Everything you need to understand how the exchange works — for travellers posting trips, for licensed agencies competing for demand, and for the escrow and data protections that sit underneath it all.

Posting trips, pooling, money, and privacy
PearlEx is a travel demand exchange. Instead of browsing offers agencies push out, you post the trip you want. Your demand aggregates with other travellers into a pool, and licensed agencies compete to win it — so the price descends as the pool grows.
A pool gathers independent travellers who want the same destination and travel window. The larger the block of demand, the more buying power it carries, so agencies bid lower to win the whole pool. Every traveller who joins makes the price better for everyone in it — including you.
No. A pool is only shared demand, not a shared itinerary. You never travel together, your bookings are independent, and members stay anonymous to one another. Pooling simply concentrates buying power.
Yes. Funds are held in CBB-licensed escrow (Thiqa) and released to the agency only once your booking is confirmed and the conditions are met. PearlEx never holds your money itself.
Other travellers in a pool never see who you are. Agencies see the trip requirements they're bidding on, not your personal identity, until a booking is awarded and the details needed to issue it are shared.
Open the exchange, pick a live pool that matches your destination and dates, and join it — or post your own trip if none fits. Posting is what starts the transaction: agencies come to you.
No. PearlEx is 100% free for travellers, with no hidden fees. You only pay the price of the trip you book through the winning agency.
Email verification keeps the exchange genuine — it confirms each posted trip is a real person's intent, protects pools from spam, and gives us a secure channel for booking and escrow notifications.
Refunds follow the terms of the booking you accepted and our Refunds & Cancellations policy. Because funds sit in escrow until conditions are met, eligible refunds are returned to you rather than chased from an agency.
Nothing is charged and nothing is lost. If a pool or trip closes without a winning bid, you're free to repost, adjust the dates, or join a different pool. You only ever commit when you accept a bid.
Verification, bidding, subscription, and payouts
Agencies submit their CBB/MOIC licensing details for review before they can bid. Only verified, licensed travel businesses are admitted to the supply console — travellers see this verified status as a trust signal.
From the supply console you see live pools and direct-bid trips. You place a competing bid against the demand block; the most compelling bid wins the pool. You compete on price and value, not on outbound advertising.
Supply access runs on a subscription so agencies get predictable, qualified demand without per-lead charges. Your subscription tier governs your access to pools and direct-bid opportunities on the exchange.
PearlEx earns from supply-side subscription and a transparent commission on awarded bookings. We never mark up the traveller's price or take a cut of their funds — the traveller pays the agreed trip price, nothing more.
Once a booking is confirmed and escrow conditions are met, funds are released from Thiqa escrow to the agency. Payouts settle against your verified account on the agreed cycle, with each release traceable in your console.
You issue the trip as bid, on the terms travellers accepted. Honouring the bid is what keeps your verified status and access — repeated failures to deliver are grounds for review and removal from the exchange.
Escrow, data protection, and disputes
Thiqa is the CBB-licensed escrow that holds traveller funds securely until a booking is confirmed. It sits between traveller and agency so neither side has to trust the other directly — the money is released only when conditions are met.
No. PearlEx operates the exchange; it does not sell travel, hold inventory, or hold client funds. Your money sits in licensed escrow, not with us.
We handle personal data in line with Bahrain's Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL): we collect only what the exchange needs, secure it, and never sell it. You can review what we hold and how it's used in our Privacy Policy.
Raise a dispute from Help & Support. Because funds remain in escrow until conditions are met, a dispute is reviewed before any release — our team escalates it and works to a fair resolution for both sides.
Only agencies that pass licensing verification can bid, and their verified status is shown on the exchange. Combined with escrow and dispute handling, this means you're never exposed to an unvetted seller.
Yes. Traffic runs over a secured connection, sensitive actions require verification, and payments are handled inside licensed escrow rather than on the platform — so your funds and data stay protected end to end.
